SAD Demands CBI Probe into Punjab CM Video Controversy, Forms Committee to Mobilize Public Support
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Wednesday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry in connection with the alleged attempt to obtain a forged forensic report linked to a video controversy involving Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
The party also announced to form a five-member committee to raise public awareness about the issue and engage with religious organizations and members of the Sant Samaj.
Addressing reporters in Jalandhar, senior SAD leaders said only a CBI investigation could uncover the full extent of the matter, which they described as an inter-state case involving an alleged money trail.
“Only a CBI probe can get to the bottom of this issue because it has become an inter-state matter, and the money trail behind the alleged transactions still needs to be investigated,” said SAD leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal.
Grewal alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) not only created a forged document but also publicly presented it as authentic.
Senior SAD leader, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, accused Chief Minister Mann of violating legal and constitutional norms in an attempt to protect himself.
