Uttrakhand CM ensures fair probe into Nagrasu incident
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said Tuesday that the state government, administration and police are conducting a fair and impartial investigation into incidents reported in Karnaprayag and Nagrasu, while pledging strict action against anyone found responsible.
Speaking after a high-level meeting in Dehradun, Dhami said authorities have already taken action against individuals identified during the investigation and that further measures will be based on established facts. He noted that the probe into the Karnaprayag case has been transferred to Haridwar, while a complaint alleging misconduct is being investigated by a deputy inspector general of police.
The chief minister also directed officials to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib pilgrimages. He said more than four million devotees have visited the Char Dham shrines this year, while attendance during the early phase of the Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage has increased by about 25,000 compared with the same period last year.
