Crime Branch Busts Illegal LPG Cylinder Hoarding Racket in Delhi; 610 Cylinders Seized
The Crime Branch on Monday uncovered an alleged illegal LPG cylinder hoarding racket and seized 610 cylinders that were being stored in violation of safety and government regulations.
The action was carried out following specific information about the unlawful storage of LPG cylinders. A police team conducted a raid at Guruji Indane Gas Service, located at Plot No. 9 in Mundka.
During the inspection, police found commercial LPG cylinders belonging to several oil marketing companies stored together inside the warehouse, including Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Guruji Indane Gas Service is authorized only to distribute Indane commercial LPG cylinders. However, cylinders belonging to other companies were also found stored at the premises, which violates the licensing conditions for LPG distributorship as well as the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order.
During the search operation, police recovered a total of 610 LPG cylinders, both filled and empty. These included 423 Indane cylinders, 92 Bharat Gas cylinders, and 95 HP Gas cylinders.
Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the illegal storage operation and identify those involved in the racket.
