India to lower oil imports from Russia

India can lower the import of crude oil from Russia after trade deal with the USA. The  Indian companies, however, complete their existing contracts and then lower the imports eventually. Currently, India is one of the biggest crude oil importer from Russia. USA had been asking India to lower the imports and with a new deal, the USA also lowered the tariffs on India from 25 percent to 18 percent.

The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported quoting the sources that India will only buy the oil only under 'special needs'.
