President's rule ends in Manipur

The President’s rule ended in Manipur Tuesday and BJP’s Y Khemchand Singh was named as the next Chief Minister of the violence ravaged Eastern state. The party also named Nemcha Kipgen as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state as a balancing act. Nemcha belongs to Kiki tribe. Both the dominant tribes in the state, the Kukis and Meitis, had a violent history which led to the president’s rule in the state.
