Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a second consecutive late-night video on Instagram on Friday, thanking youth across the country for their feedback following his midnight announcement of stricter anti-paper leak laws.

Modi’s unconventional social media posts come as widespread protests led by Gen-Z youth have rattled the government, forcing a departure from official, pre-recorded presidential-style addresses toward direct, front-camera reel updates.

"Through this medium, I have got the opportunity to connect with you late last night," Modi said in the Punjabi-language transcript of his latest video update, adding that he received numerous positive suggestions following his initial message.

The unprecedented direct appeal follows growing public outrage over national exam paper leaks. In his initial late-night message, Modi announced that the central government will introduce tough new legislation during the ongoing monsoon session of parliament to curb the practice.

The proposed bill, set for discussion at a cabinet meeting on Friday, includes severe penalties for those involved in paper leaks and provisions to establish fast-track courts to expedite trials.

Acknowledging the systemic impact of the issue, Modi noted that paper leaks are not a minor concern, but rather a major source of mental distress for millions of students and their families nationwide.
