BC Prosecution Service approves charges against Richmond RCMP officer

 The BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) announced today that charges have been approved against a member of the Richmond RCMP, Cst. Beyond Xi, following an incident that occurred in Richmond on July 7, 2025. The incident was investigated by the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) and referred to the BCPS for charge assessment . 

An Information charging Beyond Xi with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, contrary to section 320.13(2) of the Criminal Code, was sworn on July 3, under Richmond Provincial Court . The first appearance on this matter is scheduled for August 4.
