Burnaby Gang Enforcement Team seizes thousands of Kilos of Clandestine precursor
A Burnaby RCMP Gang Enforcement Team (BGET) investigation led to five properties searched and the seizure of tonnes of precursor chemicals, firearms, contraband cigarettes, cash and more.
On July 30, 2025, a traffic stop led to the seizure of approximately four kilograms of precursor chemicals commonly used in the production of fentanyl. BGET continued to investigate the driver of the vehicle which produced three more suspects and several crime scenes.
On April 1, 2026, with the assistance of Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force, Drugs and Organized Crime Unit, Prolific Offender Suppression Team, the High-Risk Offender Unit, Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) and the Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response unit (CLEAR), BGET executed five search warrants at five sites simultaneously. Three of the sites were residences, while two were Sea Can Containers and all five sites were in Richmond.
The following were seized Nearly $30,000 cash, 2 vehicles, 4 handguns, 2 tactical shotguns, Large quantities of ammunition, 2,900 contraband cigarettes, 6,765 Kilos of finished product & CDSA precursor chemicals.
Some of the finished product includes suspected Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Oxycodone.
“These search warrants resulted in the dismantling of an alleged operational drug production network and the seizure of a plethora of precursor chemicals, finished product and weapons,” said Sgt. Jamie Belleville, Burnaby RCMP’s Acting Proactive Enforcement NCO i/c. “The coordination between internal and external policing partners on this investigation highlights the efforts that our local law enforcement will undertake to ensure public safety.”
The investigation is ongoing.
