The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating two thefts; one involving an electric scooter and the other a drone. The incidents are unrelated and occurred on Saturday May 23.

Theft of Electric Scooter and helmet – 100 Block Gordon Street
The electric scooter was secured by its owner around 8:40 AM near the staff entrance of the Marriott hotel. When the owner returned at 3:20 PM, the scooter and helmet were gone. The scooter is described as a black stand-up Evercross EV10Z, with a lime green helmet attached. No serial number is available. A photo of the scooter and helmet are attached

Theft of drone – 200 Block Hansen Road
On the same day, police received a report of a theft from a vehicle parked on the street in the 200 block of Hansen Road. The vehicle had been parked since approximately 8:30 PM the previous evening. Just before 6 AM, the owner discovered the rear passenger window had been smashed and his Anti Gravity drone, googles and battery pack gone.

The drone has since been remotely deactivated by the manufacturer.
