Single vehicle collision results in fatality
The driver of a pickup truck is dead after his vehicle left the roadway on Friday.
On June 12, at approximately 6:57 p.m., RCMP received a report of a pickup truck speeding and passing unsafely approximately 45 minutes prior to the report. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
At approximately 8:21 p.m., the RCMP received a report of an iPhone crash notification on Highway 26 near Slough Creek 2100 Forest Service Road. A single vehicle left the roadway, and the driver who was the sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews attended the scene and attempted life saving measures on the 29-year-old man; however, the man did not survive.
“The vehicle involved in the collision was the same vehicle from the earlier driving complaint,” says Sgt. Clay Kronebusch. “The investigation is still ongoing. Speed and alcohol are suspected to be a factor in the collision.”
