Man charged in child luring, firearms investigation, Vancouver police say
A 36-year-old man is facing multiple charges after an investigation by the Vancouver Police Department’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Police say the investigation began on April 6, 2024, when a mother reported that her teenage daughter had been communicating with an adult man via text messages. The mother told investigators she learned the man had allegedly requested intimate photographs from the girl in exchange for money.
Officers arrested Geordie Roxburgh on Dec. 14, 2024. During the arrest, police say they seized several electronic devices as well as firearms.
As of March 25, Roxburgh has been charged with internet luring of a person under the age of 16, possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and unlawful possession of firearms.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
Roxburgh is scheduled to appear in court on May 5.
