Mysore: A mobile phone was hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vehicle on Sunday. The incident took place when PM Modi was holding a roadshow on a specially designed vehicle to campaign for the May 10 assembly elections.
According to the police, a woman BJP worker threw the phone in “excitement” and had no “ill-intention” in it.
The mobile phone thrown fell on the bonnet of the vehicle. The Prime Minister signalled to the Special Protection Group (SPG) officials accompanying him and informed them about the fall of an object on the vehicle.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar said, “The Prime Minister was under the protection of the SPG. The woman (whose phone fell on the PM’s vehicle) is a BJP worker. The SPG men later turned her back.”
“The phone was thrown away in excitement (about the event) and there was no (wrong) intention. But we are trying to trace the woman as the SPG officials handed over the phone to her.”
