New Delhi: The country’s renowned wrestlers on Tuesday expressed disappointment with the Central government and said that they will throw all their international and Olympic medals in the Ganga in Haridwar at 6 pm today.
Wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat said they will throw their medals in river Ganga in Haridwar today at 6pm.
Later, they will sit on a fast unto death at India Gate. Punia said that he will sacrifice his life at the memorial of the martyrs of the country. He said that the impure system is doing its job and it is its own. Now the people of the country have to decide whether to stand with the daughters or with the white-collar system.
SKM to burn effigies of Brij Bhushan across India on June 5
The coordination committee of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha held a meeting and announced to burn effigies of Brij Bhushan across India on June 5.
Bajrang Punia, a representative of the Wrestler Action Committee, said that the working committee of wrestlers will fully support the decisions of the SKM in support of their struggle and will make every effort to continue the struggle independently till the demand for the arrest of Brij Bhushan, accused of sexual exploitation of women wrestlers, is met.
The meeting was assured that SKM will actively participate in the struggle till the victory of the wrestlers. The further course of action was decided after discussions in the meeting.
