New Delhi: A khap panchayat was held in Sonipat on Saturday over the dispute between wrestlers and former WFI president Brij Bhushan. Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia were also present on the occasion. Both of them told the khap representatives about the meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.

During this, Sakshi Malik said that they are constantly getting threat calls. They are being told to compromise. Otherwise, the whole career will end. Pressure is being mounted on protesting wrestlers and due to this minor has back out and soon many others will withdrew from the protest as the government is not paying any head to their demands.

The players said, “We will play the Asian Games only when the whole issue is resolved. Let me make it clear that we are all one. Me, Bajrang and Vinesh are one and will remain the same,” Sakshi said.

She said that there is a reason for Vinesh’s absence. Some inquiries are going on. There are some more legal actions. That also has to be handled.

Bajrang said that the government is not ready to arrest Brij Bhushan. The Centre has taken time till June 15. If no action is taken, a sit-in will be held again for Brij Bhushan’s arrest.

After June 15, there can be a sit-in protest again at Jantar Mantar or Ramlila ground on June 16 or 17.
