Chandigarh: In a major action, the Government of India has blocked the Twitter account of Amritpal Singh, the head of ‘Waris Punjab’. Amritpal Singh’s Twitter account will remain closed in the country, he had about 11,000 followers on his Twitter account.
Amritpal Singh has been in the news for his statements, many political leaders have condemned his statements.
Congress files complaint against Amritpal
Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring has written a letter to the Punjab DGP asking him to take cognisance of Amritpal Singh’s activities. “We cannot push Punjab back into a period of separatism and deaths.”
Warring, while sharing copies of the complaint, wrote on his Twitter, “Have written to @DGPPunjabPolice about taking note of activities of one, Amritpal Singh. We can’t afford to push Punjab into another phase of extremism and wanton killings”
“Life and blood of our youth are too sacred to be shed and wasted for imaginary grievances.”
