Chandigarh: In the investigation of the multi-crore irrigation scam in Punjab, the Vigilance Bureau is focusing more on document processing rather than fact-checking. In fact, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau recently called retired IAS Sarvesh Kaushal to join the investigation.
Also, his Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued in September while Kaushal went to the US in June 2022 to meet his family and relatives.
Sarvesh Kaushal was surprised by the LoC issued by the Punjab Vigilance. Due to this, he was also late to return from the US until he got a stay order from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
However, Sarvesh Kaushal has written a letter to Punjab Chief Director Vigilance IPS Varinder Kumar, requesting him to be included in the investigation. He has written in the letter that he returned from the USA on December 20, but he has not yet been included in the investigation by the Vigilance.
Plan to move out of Chandigarh in January
Former IAS officer Sarvesh Kaushal has said in a letter to the Chief Director that his personal meetings, professionals and other types of programs are already scheduled in January 2023. Due to this, it is his compulsion to move out of Chandigarh. Kaushal has appealed to vigilance to give all the dates during which his presence is required to join the investigation.
