Vancouver : A group representing government lawyers says it’s time to think about relocating the provincial courthouse in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside neighbourhood because of safety concerns in the wake of an attack on a prosecutor.
But Premier David Eby says a move isn’t on the cards, although he remains “very concerned” about last week’s attack.
Eby says he’s spoken to Attorney General Niki Sharma and will be reaching out to the B-C Crown Counsel Association.
Association president Adam Dalrymple says the attack, which sent a prosecutor to hospital, reinforces concerns about public safety.
