New Delhi: The US Embassy in New Delhi has said that visa appointments have been opened for all categories. But due to the high demand for visas, the waiting time may be slightly longer.

The US Embassy on its website informed that they have resumed processing of routine in-person B1/B2 visas appointments starting in September 2022. However, these appointments are not placeholder appointments.

Officials said that due to reduced staffing and numerous pandemic-related disruptions to our operations since March 2020, appointment demand is high across all visa categories and wait times may be lengthy for most routine nonimmigrant visa appointments at the U.S. Embassy New Delhi and the consulates in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the embassy took to its Facebook and Instagram pages to invite a conversation with Counsellor Don Hafflin, minister of consular affairs, for all visa-related questions at 3 pm on Thursday, September 29.
