Toronto: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will meet his Ukrainian counterpart in Toronto this morning in Toronto.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is expected to thank Canada for helping Ukraine. In addition, it is being speculated that Shmyhal may also ask Canada to help them further with weapons and money.

Canada has contributed several billion dollars in economic and military aid to Ukraine since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine.

Last month, the federal budget announced a $2.4 billion loan to Ukraine, as well as tanks, arm vehicles and other ammunition.

The Prime Minister office said that Trudeau will participate in a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal around 10am.

He will be joined by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, and the Minister of National Defence, Anita Anand. Later, PM Trudeau and Shmyhal, will participate in a signing ceremony.
