U.S. President Donald Trump is sticking to his plan to impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico starting Saturday, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said on Tuesday.

Trump is also thinking about new tariffs on China from the same date.

Last week, Trump announced a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada unless they help address U.S. issues with fentanyl trafficking and immigration.

Canada has said it will take countermeasures if the tariffs are enforced.
