Toronto: Three teenagers are facing charges for installing racist flyers and offensive images outside Ajax School.

The staff of Eagle Ridge Public School received information about these flyers on May 11. Some students found that a flyer was hung on the school property.

The Durham police, along with the school’s resource officers, launched an investigation into the matter and started checking surveillance videos as well as interacting with eyewitnesses.

A total of five flyers were recovered, each containing an offensive message and a contact phone number. The numbers belonged to two girls who did not know that their numbers were listed.

After preliminary investigation, evaluation of the surveillance video and listening to the statements of the people, it came to light that the reason for this act was to harm these two girls.

A 15-year-old male, 17-year-old male and 18-year-old male of Ajax have been charged with Harass by Means of Repeated Telecommunications x5. The name of 18-year-old suspect has not been revealed for the protection of the girls in this case. The names of the other two were not disclosed due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
