Chandigarh: Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Landa has claimed the responsibility of the murder of right-wing Hindu leader and Shiv Sena Taksali president Sudhir Suri in Amritsar, Punjab on Friday.
A social media post has been posted in the name of Lakhbir in which it was said that Suri was murdered by his gang members.
“Whoever speaks objectionable about the community or any religion, he should also be prepared to face the same fate. Everyone’s turn will come. Do not assume that they will survive by taking security. This is just the beginning,” the post read.
The Punjab Police is investigating it and no official confirmation has come from the authorities in this regard yet.
Meanwhile, Suri’s body has been brought from the Civil Hospital to the post-mortem house of the Medical College, but before the post-mortem, the family has kept 4 demands.
They have demanded the status of martyr, CBI inquiry, suspension of ACP North and 2 SHOs. The family says that if the demands are not met, they would not allow to conduct post-mortem.
After this Hindu organizations have called for a bandh in Punjab. On the other hand, some Sikh organizations are opposing the bandh on social media. The situation is tensed across the Amritsar district.
