New Westminster – At approximately 10:30 pm on August 10th the New Westminster Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call coming from a residence in the Brow of the Hill neighbourhood. Upon arrival officers located someone suffering from multiple stab wounds. After removing this person from the home and placing them in the care of BC Ambulance, officers located a suspect inside the home. The suspect fled the scene, but was safely taken into custody by New Westminster Police Department officers a short distance away.

“Our Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services members are currently interviewing witnesses and examining the crime scene,” stated Inspector Andrew Perry. “I’d like to thank all first responders involved in this file. This was a dangerous situation for everyone involved.”

This incident is not believed to be a random attack or gang-related. The New Westminster Police Department asks anyone who witnessed the incident to please speak to one of our investigators by calling the Major Crime Unit at 604-529-2430.
