Surrey: RCMP are investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and transit bus.

According to the Mounties, officers responded to a report of the collision near bus stop #54988, located on King George Boulevard just north of 96 Avenue on Tuesday at 3:15 pm.

The RCMP said several frontline officers attended the scene, along with Surrey RCMP Traffic Services and the Criminal Collision Investigation Team, and a 69-year-old male pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The bus driver remained on the scene and police are working to determine all circumstances that led to this collision.

The Criminal Collision Investigation Team has assumed conduct of the investigation and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
