Surrey: RCMP is investigating an arson incident that was reported on June 5. 

In a press release, Mounties said at approximately 12:45 pm, Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a fire at the front entrance of a building located in the 13900 block of 100 Avenue. 

Surrey Fire Service was also in attendance and quickly extinguished the fire and there was minimal damage and no injuries reported, the RCMP said.

“It is clear that the fire was deliberately set, however the motive is unknown,” said Sgt. Tammy Lobb, Media Relations Officer. 

“The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit have conducted the ongoing investigation and are working closely with the Surrey RCMP Arson Coordinator,” Sgt. Tammy Lobb added.

According to the Surrey RCMP, the suspect is described as a Caucasian male wearing a gray hoodie, green shirt underneath, gray shorts, black shoes with low cut socks and carrying a dark backpack on his back, was seen running from the scene.
