New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday has rejected the petition of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and with this the Haryana Gurdwaras will be managed by the Haryana Gurdwara Management Committee.

The Shiromani Committee challenged the formation of the Haryana Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has declared the 2014 law made regarding the management of Gurdwaras in Haryana as constitutional. A bench of Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Vikram Nath has pronounced this decision today.

After the recognition of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee by the apex court, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to file a review petition against this decision of the court, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said after the meeting of the Interring Committee at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College.

He said that the government is directly interfering in the religious affairs of Sikhs. He said that the legal battle by the Shiromani Committee against this decision of the apex court will continue and will be intensified.
