Chandigarh: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s song has also started being used in the ongoing Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal dispute between Punjab and Haryana.
Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal has released a video in which he said, “The SYL canal water will not be allowed to go out of Punjab even if we lose our lives.” After this, Moosewala’s SYL song ‘Pani Chhaddo, Tupka Ni Dinde’ starts playing in the video.
Song released after Moosewala’s murder, now banned
After the gruesome murder of Sidhu Moosewala, the song SYL was released and mentioned those who killed the officers involved in building the SYL canal. However, it was later banned on YouTube in India.
Punjab, Haryana and the central government have denied having any information about who had objections to the song, which led to a ban.
Don’t hold meetings on SYL: Badal
Supreme Court recently reprimanded Punjab government for not submitting reply in SYL issue and asked both states to hold meeting and find an amicable solution to this contentious issue. Following this, CM Bhagwant Mann agreed to hold a meeting with his Haryana counterpart on the issue.
However, Sukhbir Badal today asked CM Mann not to hold a meeting with Haryana CM on SYL canal. Not a drop of water from Punjab will be given to Haryana.
Badal said that as part of the conspiracy, Arvind Kejriwal took Mann to Hisar where the CM agreed to the meeting with Haryana.
Centre should find a solution, says AAP
CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal campaigned in Haryana for 2 days to kick off its campaign for the assembly elections. During this, Kejriwal said that the Center should solve the SYL canal. CM Bhagwant Mann also said that he is ready for a meeting with Haryana CM on SYL canal but the Centre should find a solution to this.
