Max Parrot from Bromont, Quebec won a gold medal in the men’s snowboard slopestyle competition at the Beijing Olympics and his teammate Mark McMorris from Regina grabbed the bronze.
Twenty-seven-year-old Kim Boutin of Sherbrooke, Quebec won the bronze in short-track speedskating.
And the Canadian team of Alexandria Loutitt, Matthew Soukup, Abigail Strate and Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes surprised everyone with a bronze medal finish in the mixed team ski jumping competition.
It’s the first time Canada has won any medal in any ski jumping event at the Olympics.
