Ontario: Six people, including suspect dead and several others were injured after a shooting in Vaughan Sunday night.
York Regional Police were called to Jane Street and Rutherford Road Condo after informing them of the shooting of several people.
Police confirmed that five people were injured here and a suspect was also killed in a police encounter. The incident took place at a condo building in the area of Jane Street and Rutherford Road.
YRP duty inspector Const. Laura Nicolle at the scene said that an interaction took place between police and suspect, who was killed in the cross firing while five victims were gravely injured and succumbed to their injuries. Some people are undergoing treatment in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) had also be informed in this regard and investigation is underway, police said.
