Washington: A heavily armed former student opened fire at a Nashville elementary school on Monday and killed young students including three staff members.
Nashville Police said a 28-year-old female shooter had been shot dead. However, the reason behind the incident has not been disclosed by the police yet.
According to officials and media reports, six people, including three children, have died in the incident. The school where the incident took place was a pre-school. All the children studying in it were under 12 years of age.
Officials said the first emergency call was received around 10:00 am. Within 15 minutes, officers arrived at the scene and the security forces killed the shooter. The motive behind the woman’s motive behind the incident is being investigated, the official said.
Mass shooting incidents are unabated in the US. On Sunday, two people were shot at a gurdwara in the state of California.
Both the injured have been admitted to the hospital and are out of danger. Around 3.30 pm, officials were seen handcuffing two men. However, it is not clear whether these people were involved in the incident.
