Ottawa: The World Sikh Organization (WSO) has strongly objected to the exclusion of Punjab from the expansion of the Canada India Air Transport Agreement last week.
The WSO has recently written a letter to Transport Minister Omar Alghabra expressing displeasure over the exclusion of Punjab from the extension of the Canada-India Air Transport Agreement.
Under the MoU, countless flights have been extended to select airports between Canada and India, but Amritsar and Chandigarh in Punjab have been denied these.
The WSO said that improving transport relations and better flight options is certainly a positive step forward. But The Sikhs of Canada are disappointed that the airports of Punjab have not been included in this agreement.

The Sikh community is settled in large numbers in Canada and everyone is still deeply connected with Punjab. Many Sikhs living here have been advocating a direct flight between Canada and Amritsar. But no success has been achieved so far.
