Chandigarh: Punjab singer Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh will take out a ‘Insaaf Yatra’ march against the ruling Punjab government and seeking justice for Sidhu Moosewala in Jalandhar constituency ahead of the by-election.
The march will be carried out at different places in Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency for demanding justice. It will start from Bara Pind village and Rurka Kalan in Phillaur on March 5.
Balkaur Singh posted a video on social media and appealed to all the people of Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency to join this protest march in large numbers for justice for Sidhu. He sought people’s support to ensure justice to his slain singer Moosewala.
“Elections are going on in Jalandhar and the government is at your doorstep. Although he appeals for justice every Sunday, but on May 5, he is also coming to you in Jalandhar to seek Justice for Sidhu Moosewala. I request all of you to join the march as per the given schedule,” he said.
The AAP, which won 92 of the 117 seats during the assembly polls, lost its lone Lok Sabha seat in Sangrur just three months after coming to power. In Sangrur, a stronghold of CM Bhagwant Mann, people elected Simranjit Mann of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) as MP. The biggest reason for AAP’s defeat in the Sangrur by-election was said to be gruesome murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
During the Sangrur by-election, there was a demand for justice for Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and early arrest of his culprits. People were disgruntled over pruning security of Moosewala before his murder.
In Sangrur, people were also calling the murder of Sidhu Moosewala a political murder and put the AAP government in the dock.
