Chandigarh: Punjab cabinet minister Fauja Singh Sarari, who is embroiled in a controversy after the audio clip of planning ‘extortion’ went viral, has been served a Show-cause notice by the Punjab government into the matter.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has hinted at taking major action against the minister in a corruption case while interacting with media at the sideline at Hussainiwala today to pay homage to the martyrs on the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.

CM said that notice has been sent to Sarari and action will definitely be taken in this matter by following a procedure.

In a purported audio, the minister and the OSD dicuss about extorting money from transporters. Following this, the Show-cause notice has been served to the minister.

According to sources, if Fauja Singh Sarari does not give a satisfactory reply to this notice, then major action can be taken against him and he may be removed from the cabinet.
