Surrey: The RCMP is investigating a shooting that left a person dead on Sunday.
According to the Mounties, on July 9 at approximately 5:07 pm, Surrey RCMP officers responded to a shooting in an alleyway north of 96 Avenue and 130 Street.
The RCMP said when officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male victim unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a white Ford Edge SUV.
The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased, the police said in a statement.
“Police are investigating whether a burnt out vehicle located a short time later in the area of 8200 block of 151A Street is connected to the homicide. No suspect description is currently available, and police are looking for any witnesses or those with dash camera footage from the area, to contact police,” the RCMP added.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called and it will worki in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.
