Chandigarh: Speculation over the removal of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has come to an end during a meeting of the members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) held at Teja Singh Samundri Hall of the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Saturday.

According to the information received, there was reportedly a split in the Akali Dal over the decision to remove the Jathedar, however, the issue was not raised during the meeting by any member.

The SGPC has now come out in favour of wrestlers and announced that a delegation will reach Jantar Mantar in Delhi to raise their voice in favor of wrestlers.

During this time, SGPC members will also meet women wrestlers who were physically abused. During the meeting, resentment was also expressed against the police over running malicious campaigns against Sikhs.

Pertinently, there has been a false propaganda against Sikhs on social media for some time. The media wing of the SGPC verified some accounts and complained to the police, but the police have not taken any action in this matter yet.

At the same time, in the case of the construction of a Buddhist temple in Dangmar Gurudwara Sahib, a delegation will soon meet Tibetan religious leaders to find a amicable solution into the matter.
