New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Saturday revealed that she was sexually abused by her father when she was a child. A similar disclosure was made a few days ago by actress and National Commission for Women (NCW) member Khushboo Sundar.

“My father used to sexually assault me when I was young. He used to beat me a lot. When he came home, I used to get scared and often hide under the bed,” she said, adding that she plans every night on how to help those women get their due and teach a lesson to such men who exploit children.

Maliwal further elaborated that her father grabbed her peak and hung it against the wall. “I used to bleed from my head. I believe that only when one suffers too much torture, one understands the pain of others, and it ignites a fire that can shake the entire system.”

Maliwal said she stayed with her father till class 4 of school and it happened many times then.

Khushboo Sundar had said that she was sexually abused by her father at the age of 8. When she was 15, she began rebelling against her father, who had then left the family.
