Chandigarh: A school bus collided head-on with a truck in Punjab’s Tarn Taran. The accident occurred due to zero visibility in the morning, police said.

The collision was so terrible that the school bus itself overturned. An 8-year-old boy and the bus driver died on the spot. Hearing the screaming, the people gathered and took the injured children out of the bus and took them to the hospital.

The incident took place in Sheikhchak village in Tarn Taran. The school bus belongs to SBS School and College. The bus had set out to take the children from the villages to school. Around 12 children were present in the bus when the accident took place. The school bus was on the link road of village Sheikhchak. Meanwhile, a speeding truck came and the two collided head-on. After the collision, the bus overturned in the middle of road.

The truck truck driver fled from the spot after the incident. The police immediately reached the spot after being called by the villagers. Based on the statements, the police have started the investigation.

The truck driver is being traced. The bodies were fished out of the bus and taken to Tarn Taran Civil Hospital for post mortem examination.
