Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal passed away on Tuesday evening. He has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mohali since Friday.

Earlier, he was attempted in PGI, however, after his health deteriorated, he was taken to a private hospital in Mohali, where he breathed his last on late Tuesday evening. The 95-year-old Parkash Singh Badal was five-time Chief Minister of Punjab.

He was also remained President of Shiromani Akali Dal from 1995 to 2008, when he was replaced by his son Sukhbir Singh Badal.

On Monday evening, the private hospital in a statement had said, “Parkash Singh Badal is still under the close supervision of doctors in the ICU. The senior SAD leader could have been shifted to a private ward if his health continued to improve gradually for the next few days.”
