New Delhi: The second day of the Lok Sabha proceedings witnessed an uproar over Rahul Gandhi’s statement given in London on Tuesday.
The proceedings of the Lower House have now been adjourned till tomorrow. The ruling party is demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi. The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 2 pm due to the ruckus.
On the first day of the session, the BJP stuck to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s demand for an apology. Several MPs, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, said that Rahul Gandhi should come inside the House and apologise. Due to this, parliament could not function properly throughout the day. Congress MP and leader of the party in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said on Tuesday that the government does not want to run Parliament.
“I have read an article written on Rahul Gandhi in an Indian newspaper today, in which he has not attacked the Prime Minister anywhere. All he said is that some of the things that are happening are undemocratic. We should take care of this and we should solve it together. Rahul Gandhi has said the right thing, not said anything wrong.”
Rahul Gandhi has said he has not said anything wrong and defamed anyone.
He said that a democratic system, anyone is allowed to express his views freely. Let this House run and during the discussion, tell what Rahul has said wrong.
On the question of Rahul Gandhi apologizing in the House, Congress Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Manickam Tagore said that Gandhi has spoken the truth that the voice of the people is being suppressed here.
