Surrey: Remains of unidentified person were located in the Clayton area of Surrey, the RCMP said in a press release.
“On February 15, unidentified human remains were located on an empty lot in the 19100 block of Fraser Highway. Criminality is not believed to have been a factor in this death,” the Surrey RCMP said.
According to the Mounties, Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit has been working in partnership with BC Coroners Service to identify the individual.
At this time, investigators have not established any connections with any ongoing missing person’s investigations and despite a number of investigative steps, the person’s identity remains unknown, the police said.
BC Coroners Service Identification Team said the victim is a male with 20-50 years age. Officials said the victim had 5’8″ to 5’9.5″ height, short black hair, tattoo on left upper chest: angelica in cursive, tattoo on right shoulder: green and red sleeve, and surgical plate on right ulna bone.
The RCMP said when located, the deceased was wearing blue baseball cap, blue denim jeans, Black Globe brand men’s skate shoes, white short sleeve t-shirt and Blue Cheetah brand steel wrist watch.
“We are hoping that someone will recognize the distinct tattoo or clothing and be able to help identify this person,” said Corporal Vanessa Munn, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer.
