New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after he sought the intervention of the US and Europe to restore democracy in India.
The BJP also targeted Rahul Gandhi for criticising the state of democracy in India and the RSS from foreign soil.
BJP said the Congress leader is “completely in the grip of Maoist thought process and anarchist elements”.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi described the RSS as a radical, fascist organization and said that it has changed the nature of democratic elections in India by capturing the country’s institutions. He said that RSS is attacking India’s democracy.
Former Union minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said Gandhi has gone against the consensus in India against any interference in its internal affairs by foreign forces. He said Rahul Gandhi has tried to embarrass the country by saying that Europe and the US should interfere in India’s internal affairs.
Prasad further said that what happens to him as soon as Rahul Gandhi goes abroad? All dignity, all decency, democratic shame are all forgotten. Now when the people of the country do not listen to him or understand him, he goes to abroad and lament that India’s democracy is in danger.
“Rahul Gandhi ji in his speeches in London has insulted India’s democracy, Parliament, political system and justice system and strategic security, including the people of India. Rahul Gandhi has tried to shame India’s democracy, politics, Parliament, judicial system and its strategic security from foreign soil,” he added.
