Chandigarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Punjab Police DSP, his reader and two other accused in the Rs 50 lakh bribery case. The arrest has been made in a nearly 2-year-old bribery case. The arrested DSP has been identified as Amroz Singh.

The four accused were produced before the Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Chandigarh and remanded to the DSP and his then reader. The remaining two accused have been sent to jail. According to the information, Amroz Singh was now working in the Intelligence Department of Punjab Police.

The CBI has also raided his house and the houses of other accused in Haryana.

In this case, Mohit Sharma of Ambala-based M/s Fantasy Gaming Technology Private Limited had given a bribery complaint to the CBI. The CBI had arrested Anil Mor of Jind, Dilbagh Singh and Ravinder Singh of Kaithal in the case. Anil and Dilbagh were arrested in April and Ravinder in October.

The three are out on bail if the charge sheet is not filed on time. Two of these accused were earlier caught by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh.The role of DSP Amroz Singh and his reader was also revealed in the case.

In March last year, the complainant received a call from Amroz Singh’s reader and he was told that a complaint had been received against him from some Pradeep Singh. The bribe was demanded in the name of settling the case. The case is related to a property dispute.
