Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Tuesday has announced to give Rs 1 lakh compensation each to kin of three children crushed to death by a train in Punjab’s Kiratpur Sahib two days back.
Sdm Sri Anandpur Sahib Manisha Rana, who visited the families of the victims of the accident, shared her grief with the families of the victims, while informing that the Punjab government has announced a compensation of one lakh rupees each for the victims’ families.
Earlier, member of Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Manish Tewari today visited kiratpur Sahib to meet the families of the victims of the train accident and expressed grief. Manish Tewari said that he will soon meet the Railway Minister regarding this matter and will get as much help as possible from the government and the administration.
The MP termed the accident as an negligence on the part of the railway department and directed the railway department officials to take strict action against the culprits. “How is it possible that at 11 am, the driver did not see children playing on the railway track?”
