Speaking in the House, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that at present, Amritsar, Goindwal Sahib, Tarn Taran and Khadoor Sahib, the holy land of the Gurus, have become haven for drug peddling.

Dr. Balbir demanded that the issue of drugs be discussed in the Vidhan Sabha. Meanwhile, the Speaker unanimously decided that the issue of drugs will be discussed during the proceedings of the Assembly on March 22.

Initially, the Speaker gave only an hour to the issue, but later he said that on March 22, the issue of drugs will be discussed in the House for two hours.

The AAP minister also said that in areas like Gurdaspur and Dera Baba Nanak, people still kill unborn girls in the womb and there are only 887 girls for every 1000 boys, which is a serious matter.
