Chandigarh: Farmers belonging to various farmer organisations and struggle committees under the Bharatiya Kisan Union have made Punjab toll-free from today.

This protest of farmers is being done by the government for not accepting their demands and not implementing the demands accepted. Farmers have decided to keep all the main toll plazas in Punjab closed from December 15 to January 15.

All major toll plazas will be closed by farmers between 11 am and 2 pm today. During this time, toll tax will not be collected from people.

These 18 toll plazas will be closed

Amritsar: Katthunangal, Mananwala and Attari toll plazas.

Pathankot: Dinanagar toll plaza.

Kapurthala: Dhilwan Toll Plaza.

Moga: Baghapurana Toll Plaza.

Tarn Taran: Usma, Manan Toll Plaza.

Hoshiarpur: Mukerian, Chilang, Chabbewal, Mansar and Gaddiwala toll plazas.

Ferozepur: Gidderpindi and Ferozeshah toll plazas.

Jalandhar: Chak Bamniya Toll Plaza.

Fazilka: Qalandar and Mamojaye toll plazas.

Warning from farmers

Bharatiya Kisan Union leaders have warned the BJP and the central government. Farmer leaders have said that if their demands are not implemented, then after a meeting in Karnal on December 24, there will be huge protests across the country on December 26.

There are many demands of the farmers, including cancellation of cases filed against farmers during the farmers’ agitation, guarantee of MSP on crops, insurance, compensation for crops damaged by disease, which they are protesting for implementation.
