Punjab: Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer, Sibin C, announced that following the scrutiny of nomination papers for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, 355 candidates have been deemed eligible out of the 466 who filed a total of 598 nominations across the state’s 13 Lok Sabha constituencies between May 7 and May 14. The breakdown reveals varying numbers of valid nominations per constituency, with Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib, and others seeing a range of candidates whose papers were found valid, contributing to the final tally of eligible contenders.

Sibin C further stated that the window for withdrawal of nominations remains open until May 17. After this date, the official list of candidates vying for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be finalized and released, setting the stage for the forthcoming electoral contest.
