Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Bathinda (Rural) Amit Ratan Kotfatta on Wednesday late night. Kotfatta was arrested by vigilance from Rajpura.

A few days ago, his close aide Risham Singh was caught taking a bribe of Rs 4 lakh in Bathinda. At that time, the MLA was also questioned in the Circuit House for about 4 hours.

However, the vigilance gave him a clean chit at that time. Following this, the AAP government came under the target of opponents.

Earlier, Pritpal Kumar, husband of Seema Rani, sarpanch of Ghudda village, had alleged that the BDPO office had been harassing him for four years.

“We never gave them a share. We then informed Bathinda rural MLA Amit Ratan Kotfatta. We have got the work done and Rs 25 lakh was pending. On this, the MLA demanded bribe and cracked a deal to release the entire payment for Rs 5 lakh,” the complaint told the vigilance in his complaint.
