New Delhi: Wrestlers continue to protest at Jantar Mantar against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Indian Olympic Association (IAO) president PT Usha had recently strongly criticised the protest by wrestlers on the streets against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers expressed surprise over PT Usha’s statement. Now on Wednesday, PT Usha has reached Jantar Mantar and met the protesting wrestlers.

Former Olympian PT Usha interacted with wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and other wrestlers sitting on a dharna at Jantar Mantar and said that she is an athlete first and then IAO Chief.

Bajrang Punia said that they will continue the protest till Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has not been arrested.

Earlier, PT Usha had opposed the sit-in, saying that players should not protest on the streets. This is tarnishing the image of the country. In response, the wrestlers had said that such a statement was not expected from her and they expect for justice and cooperation from Usha.

Meanwhile, disgruntled with the three-month-long wait, the wrestlers resumed their sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar on April 23 and approached the Supreme Court over the arrest of the WFI president. It is clear that the IOA was not happy with this move of the wrestlers.
