New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the two-day “PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022” at the Pusa Mela Ground of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute here and released the 12th installment of Rs 16,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
Modi had released Rs 21,000 crore as the 11th instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla in May to mark the eighth anniversary of his government.
On the occasion, Modi also inaugurated the Agri Startup Conclave and Exhibition. Apart from this, he also inaugurated 600 PM-Kisan Samridhi Kendras (PM-KSKs) under the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers and also launched an important scheme called ‘One Nation-One Fertilizer’ for farmers under the brand name ‘Bharat’ urea bag.
On this occasion, Modi has also addressed crores of farmers, agricultural startups, researchers, policy-makers, bankers, other stakeholders.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, more than one crore farmers were participating in this event through digital medium.
According to the government, this scheme started to help medium and small farmers in the country and crores of farmers in the country have benefited from it. The Central Government launched the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on February 24, 2019.
Under this scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per annum is provided to eligible beneficiary farmer families. It is payable in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
