Chandigarh: Launching a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Union government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said that the growing popularity of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has alarmed the BJP, causing it to misuse the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to stop AAP leaders.
Addressing a press conference here, party’s Punjab Chief Spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that it is clearly visible to BJP that next elections in 2024 will be a battle between PM Narendra Modi and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal (Modi vs Kejriwal). They want to stop Kejriwal at any cost.
“We are not afraid of PM Modi and CBI raids. People across the country are seeing Kejriwal as an alternative to Modi and the BJP and Modi are scared of the increasing political stature of Kejriwal,” Kang said while lashing out on Centre for CBI raids at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence.
He said BJP and Congress are calling the front page coverage by New York Times on Delhi Model a fake news, however, the newspaper itself clarified that it was a result of independent and impartial’ on-the-ground reporting.
He said that the New York Times has refuted BJP and opposition claims that the news was an advertisement and clarified that the article on Delhi education model was based on ground reports by its staff.
But the opposition is still trying to defame the AAP with its false propaganda.
He said that after the Kejriwal launched make India No 1 nation in the world recently and Kejriwal model got recognition across the globe. This is why Modi government wants to destroy the AAP’s health and education model. But CBI and ED raids can not stop the mission of Arvind Kejriwal to make the country number one in the world, Kang added.
He also refuted the allegation that there are irregularities in the Delhi liquor policy and termed it a political propaganda of BJP government to defame AAP government.
